Ten Buck Bites

March 10, 2015

Another round of $10 bites. I don’t know about you, but to me there is nothing more satisfying than eating a great meal for cheap. My hubby and I usually spend our weekends exploring the streets of NYC, eating through our search for delectable eeeeeats. The gems we found this week are both healthy and not so healthy, but you can bet they’re all ridiculously delicious and the perfect bites to add to our list.

1- Eight Turn Crepe — Seaweed Sesame. This concept is great: Japanese-style crepes with a gluten-free rice base. There are SO many on the menu that rule. Another favorite is the azuki berries with matcha ice cream. yum.

2-El Rey — Grains & Crudite Salad. Yea, I know you want it. This cool coffee shop/restaurant has some incredibly beautiful, colorful and healthy menu options, with a touch of exotic flare.  A mixture of Mexican, Middle Eastern and west coast ingredients and dishes are what influence and inspired chef Gerardo Gonzalez’s menu. A hip downtown hangout that you should definitely not miss out on. Plus…the coffee is on point! This week’s favorite 10BB, hands down!

DSC062463- Cheeky Sandwiches — Fried chicken, buttermilk biscuit, coleslaw and gravy. This sandwich is totally on another level…just LOOK at that pic! PLEASE go. I’m just gonna say it….I think it’s one of the BEST biscuit sandwiches in the city.
